Cold Remedy Tea Ingredients
See recipe card for quantities.
Combine the lemon slices, ginger slices, and honey in a mason jar.
Add the ground turmeric into the mixture, and mix thoroughly.
Store in the closed mason jar for up to one week in the fridge.
Put a few large Tbsp of this mixture into a mug and pour boiling water overtop to enjoy a soothing cold-busting tea. 🍋
Hint: Use a flavoured honey (I like blueberry!) for a more flavourful tea.
Store the mason jar in the fridge for at least 8 hours before making your tea to allow all the ingredients and flavours to meld together.
I love this lemon, ginger, turmeric and honey tea when I have a cold, but you also might enjoy good ol’ peppermint tea when you’re feeling under the weather.
While tea might not eliminate a cold, it can certainly help your symptoms (like a sore throat, cough, runny nose) subside because of its warmth and healthy ingredients.
Ginger can encourage perspiration so it can be used to treat illnesses such as influenza or cold. The fresh root (NOT the powder) may have antiviral effects.1
