I’ve been making this natural cold remedy tea since 2018, and it’s my go-to whenever I’m feeling cold or flu symptoms coming on. It soothes my sore throat, and it’s so cozy and yummy.

Instructions

How to make cold remedy tea with lemon, ginger, turmeric and honey

Combine the lemon slices, ginger slices, and honey in a mason jar.

Add the ground turmeric into the mixture, and mix thoroughly.

Store in the closed mason jar for up to one week in the fridge.

Put a few large Tbsp of this mixture into a mug and pour boiling water overtop to enjoy a soothing cold-busting tea. 🍋

Hint: Use a flavoured honey (I like blueberry!) for a more flavourful tea.

Top tip

Store the mason jar in the fridge for at least 8 hours before making your tea to allow all the ingredients and flavours to meld together.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1 knob ginger, peeled and sliced
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric

Instructions
 

  • Chop the lemon & peeled ginger knob into slices.
  • Combine the lemon slices, ginger slices, and honey in a mason jar.
  • Add the ground turmeric into the mixture, and mix thoroughly.
  • Store in the closed mason jar for up to one week in the fridge.

    Hi Christina,
    love all the recipes you have on this blog. Really yummy food indeed.
    Just wanted to add a little note to this cold/flue remedy tea. Turmeric gets better absorbed and therefore offers more health benefits if you pair it with a pinch of black pepper. Just a little bit should be enough to up the benefits of this lovely soothing tea 😊
