Simple Balsamic Dressing
This balsamic dressing recipe is so simple and quick to make, and it’s a staple condiment that you’ll want to use throughout the week. This balsamic dressing tastes wonderful on a simple green salad, or use it as a marinade for chicken breast or salmon.
My absolute favourite dressing for salad is a tart and flavourful balsamic vinaigrette. When I realized how easy it was to make, I knew I’d never go back to store-bought balsamic dressing again! My version is tart and a little spicy with no added sugar or sweetener. It tastes delicious on sweet potato toast or drizzled on a green salad.
Ingredients
- extra virgin olive oil
- balsamic vinegar
- salt & peper
- granulated onion
- granulated garlic
- mustard powder
See recipe card for quantities.
Instructions
Combine all of the ingredients into a mason jar.
Place the lid on the jar and shake the jar until the dressing has fully emulsified.
Hint: you can double or triple this recipe to make dressing for a crowd, or enough dressing to last the entire week!
Equipment
I like to use a simple lidded mason jar (or upcycled jam jar) to shake & make my sauces and dressings. You can also use a food processor instead.
Storage
This dressing doesn’t have to be refrigerated and can last up to 7 days.
Top tip
Make sure to shake your balsamic dressing well so that the ingredients emulsify (or the oil and vinegar completely combines). The dressing should look smooth!
