Equipment

  • 1 Blender
  • 1 whisk battery operated
  • 1 milk frother

Ingredients

  • 3 strawberries medium
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp matcha powder
  • 2 tbsp hot water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup ice

Instructions

  • Wash, hull, and chop 3 medium sized strawberries. Add them to a blender with 2 tbsp of water and the maple syrup. Blend until smooth to create a strawberry puree.
  • Measure out 1 teaspoon of matcha powder into a drinking glass. Pour 2 tbsp of hot water into the glass. Using a battery operated whisk, whisk the matcha and water together until the mixture becomes frothy and smooth.
  • Pour the milk into your Nespresso frother. Use the cold froth setting to whip the milk into a creamy foam. If you don’t have a Nespresso frother, a handheld frother or a whisk can also do the trick. The goal is to create a foam that is light and airy but still holds its shape when poured over the matcha. Pour the ice and then the cold foamed milk over the matcha mixture.
  • Finally, drizzle the homemade strawberry syrup over the cold foam. The syrup will slowly sink through the foam, creating a gorgeous marbled effect and infusing the drink with sweet strawberry flavor. Mix with a straw, and your DIY Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte is now ready to be enjoyed!

Notes

You can use more maple syrup if you prefer a sweeter drink.
